 Tip: Create content that brings brand awareness and that is unique to your business. Avoid overly salesy campaigns and stick to topics that build confidence and comfort in doing business with you.

1) Content Strategy

Start by outlining your goals of what you want your content to be about. Be sure to consider where and how the content will be heard.

3) Script

Your finished messages will only be as good as the scripts they were read from so be picky and be patient. Like a good paint job, 90% of quality is the preparation. We recommend reading aloud and comfortable.

5) CTA's

Each topic should have a Call To Action. What do you want them to do? Make it clear and simple. If the topic is something they need to commit to memory, be sure to repeat a few times throughout the message such as “Go Codes”, Coupons, or Event Dates.

7) Branding

These are your messages and your brand, to let your listeners know! Create an introduction, use your jingle or tagline. Something like: “Your listening to JRN, the Jones Radio Network”. Be sure to add some crisp subtle bedding music playing underneath the message to keep things fun.

2) Make A List

Decide the number of topics you ultimately want to talk about and create a list (8-10 recommended). Create a bullet point outline of what you want to say.

4) One Topic

One topic per message at a time. Pretty self explanatory but, you would be surprised. People tend to get a bit excited and overzealous. Your messages need to be focused, concise, and specific to one topic at one given time.

6) Length

The length of the message is important. You don’t want it to be too short in which it went unnoticed, but so long winded that goal gets lost. Recommend between 45 sec – 1 min, using the first 15 seconds as the hook to grab their attention.

8) Phrasing

If your content strategy and outline was done correctly, this part should be self explanatory. Think through the topics and the phrasing and how to get the most mileage out of a message while still being relevant. Phrase your scripts to be multi-purposed, but don’t put a square peg in a round hole.
